Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series – Consultation Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences in UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) is seeking faculty to work as a part of a team emphasizing high quality, patient-centered psychiatric in-patient and/or outpatient care. We are specifically seeking Adult psychiatrists who have interest and expertise in Consultation Psychiatry. Having completed a Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship or the equivalent is preferred, but not required. Additionally, expertise and experience in neuromodulation interventions (and in particular transcranial magnetic stimulation [TMS]) as well as a background and interest in Neurological Rehabilitation would also be helpful but not required.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join an established department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences with an international reputation of excellence in education, research, and patient care. Time is allocated for didactic teaching, case conferences, and supervision of trainees. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to evaluate and treat their own patients. In addition, they will engage in scholarly or creative activities derived from and in support of their clinical teaching, professional, and service activities.

Teaching and supervisory experience of residents, fellows, and medical students would be helpful. This recruitment is conducted at the Instructor/Assistant/Associate rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Determination of rank and step will be based upon background, training, experience, and overall track record.

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications by time of hire:

Must hold an M.D., or D.O. equivalent medical degree., and be board eligible or certified in Psychiatry plus any relevant subspecialty discipline; Must possess a valid California Medical License and Drug Enforcement Agency certificate.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and achievements. The Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. The salary range is from $200-250K depending on the individuals qualifications.
