Shane Marohnic

Research Associate

Shane joined the Neuroimaging and Addiction Treatment Laboratory in July 2021 as a Staff Research Associate I. His research interests center on the development and maintenance of addictive behaviors, motivational and affective influences on dysfunctional drug use, and interventions for mitigating substance use consequences. His past work has assessed interactions between impulsive personality traits and disparate substance use contexts. Shane graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (2020) and plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology. His work in the NAT Lab supports studies on mGlu5 glutamate and D2/D3 dopamine receptor functioning in individuals with stimulant use disorder.
