Johannes Petzold, M.D., Ph.D.

Johannes is a visiting scholar from the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. He recently reviewed the role of the Group-I metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 5 (mGlu5) in animal models of methamphetamine addiction to appraise the therapeutic potential for mGlu5 allosteric modulators. In the quest for novel treatment approaches, he is currently studying the structural brain correlates of negative affective states in Methamphetamine Use Disorder.
