The mission of the Integrative Study Center in Mood Disorders is as follows:

  1. Bring together a talented group of researchers and clinicians to initiate new studies in mood disorders that attempt to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice through “translational science” (studies that use basic laboratory observations to inform clinical practice, and observations from clinical practice to inform basic research questions).
  2. Recruit talented young fellows/faculty to these new areas of research.
  3. Bring a more comprehensive public awareness to mood disorders, their recognition and treatment, and research needs and approaches.

The Integrative Study Center in Mood Disorders was made possible by generous gifts from the Carl and Roberta Deutsch Foundation, the Knapp Foundation, and the Kayne Foundation.
