Director, Principal Investigator
Professor-in-Residence in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, and Director of the Eating Disorders and Body Dysmorphic Disorder Research Program, and the Adult Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Program. He is currently funded by the NIH to study visual and emotional information processing in BDD and anorexia nervosa, as well as anxiety and reward processing in anorexia nervosa. His research seeks to understand phenotypes of aberrant perceptual and emotional processing that cross diagnostic boundaries of conditions involving body image such as BDD, eating disorders, and gender dysphoria. He also studies neurometabolites and brain connectivity in individuals with OCD, and how they are affected by cognitive-behavioral therapy.
