Friends of the Semel Institute Research Fellowship Program 2009-2010 Application

June 24, 2009

The Friends of the Semel Institute is committed to helping develop the next generation of researchers on the mind and brain in health and disease. The Friends are pleased to announce the fourth year of fellowship funding to help young investigators build their careers. Applications are due by 12:00pm on Monday, July 6, 2009.
This program supports postdoctoral fellows who are conducting independent research in the basic or clinical sciences with an Institute Scientist as a mentor. The Friends Research Fellowship will provide support for fellow(s) with an ongoing research project on which the fellow is the lead investigator. Fellowship award amounts will be up to $35,000 and may support the fellow's salary and/or research related costs. Preference will be given to research projects which do not currently have adequate financial support, and where the award will enable the applicant to more rapidly, effectively, or completely conclude his or her research project and publish a first-authored manuscript. Applicants must currently hold an appointment as a research or clinical fellow in the Semel Institute devoting at least half-time to research.
