Cognitive Behavior Therapy with Children: Treatment and Systems of Care

Overview

(Same as Psychology M285.) Cognitive behavioral approaches to the prevention and treatment of mental health problems in children. Service delivery systems for treating troubled youth are examined and issues with respect to current systems of care are discussed. Major problems examined include conduct disorders, attention deficit disorder, depression, anxiety and learning disabilities. To receive 4 units, students will be required to demonstrate more extensive mastery of course material and complete a more extensive final paper. Prerequisite: consent of instructor and graduate standing. Offered Fall quarter, Thursdays, Semel Institute and Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital.
