PEERS Training Seminar for Mental Health Professionals
The PEERS® Certified Training for Mental Health Professionals is designed exclusively for psychologists, MFTs, LCSWs, speech and language pathologists, clinical researchers, and other mental health professionals or educators who are interested in learning to implement PEERS®, the ONLY available evidence-based social skills program for middle and high school adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Attendees will obtain 24 hours of training over 4 days regarding use of the PEERS® and the research behind the program. Each attendee will receive a copy of the following publications on-site: Social Skills for Teenagers with Developmental and Autism Spectrum Disorders: The PEERS Treatment Manual (Laugeson & Frankel, 2010), The PEERS® Curriculum for School-Based Professionals: Social Skills Training for Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Laugeson, 2014), and The Science of Making Friends: Helping Socially Challenged Teens and Young Adults (Laugeson, 2013). This training will enable mental health professionals and educators to implement this 14-week parent-assisted program as PEERS® Certified Providers.
