How to Teach Friendship Skills to Children - A 2-day course designed for Mental Health Professionals and Educators
August 24 and 25, 2011 are closed to further enrollment
Upcoming Training Dates: TBA
The Children’s Friendship Training (CFT) Seminar is designed exclusively for mental health professionals and educators who are interested in learning and/or implementing the CFT intervention and research in their clinical practice. This social skills intervention has been used at the UCLA Parenting & Children’s Friendship Program (part of the UCLA Child Psychiatry outpatient department) on over 1500 children with social deficits since 1991. The intervention originates from the clinical research of Fred Frankel Ph.D. & Robert Myatt, Ph.D and has been subsequently published into a treatment manual (Frankel, F. & Myatt, R. Children’s Friendship Training. New York: Brunner-Routledge Publishers, 2002). Course participants are required to have their own copy of the manual prior to beginning the course.
Mental health professionals and educators who attend the UCLA CFT Seminar can expect 2 days of intensive instruction on the CFT research and intervention which will enable implementation of the intervention into the attendees’ clinical practice.
