MAPs 1 - Week 5

Track 1: Introductory Meditation. This first meditation begins the class, inviting participants to settle, focus, and arrive. Track 2: Home Practice Check In. Students ask questions and comment on how their practice went during the week. Track 3: Lecture on Working with our Thoughts. Students learn the mindfulness approach to dealing with difficult thoughts. Track 4: Walking Meditation, Diana teaches further instruction on walking meditation and students try the practice. (Please practice 8-10 minutes at home after listening to the track) Track 5: Feedback on walking meditation. Students share their experience. Track 6: Sitting Meditation. Diana teaches a sitting meditation that focuses on mindfulness of thoughts. Students share experiences. Track 7: Lecture on Mindful Speaking and Listening Track 8: Mindful Speaking and Listening Exercise. We learn the principles of mindful speaking and listening by practicing in pairs. Diana then explains how to continue with Home Practice for the week, and ends with a final sitting meditation.
