MAPs 1 - Week 1
Track 1: Introductory Meditation, This first meditation begins the class, inviting participants to settle, focus, and arrive. Track 2: Introduction of Participants, Members of the class introduce themselves and share why they are taking this class. Track 3: Overview of the Class. Diana introduces the class logistics, structure of the class, offers and introduction to mindfulness, and a short overview of the scientific research on mindfulness Track 4: Eating Meditation and class sharing experience, Class members receive an introductory mindfulness experience through eating a grape mindfully. Note: please bring a grape to this meditation. Track 5: Meditation Posture Instructions. Diana explains how to set yourself up to meditate on either a chair or cushion. Track 6: Sitting Meditation Guided Instructions. This is the instructions for the basic mindfulness sitting meditation which we will be doing for several weeks. Track 7: Class Comments on Sitting Meditation, and Preparation for Home Practice. Class members share their experience with this meditation. Diana explains how to start your own daily home practice. Track 8: Short Closing Meditation
