Psychiatry Grand Rounds
The Semel Institute Psychiatry Grand Rounds will be held on THURSDAY, October 7th at 12:00 PM in the Louis Jolyon West Auditorium, C8-183, Semel Institute/NPI.
Our lecturer will be: Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. Professor of Medicine emeritus University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society
The topic of the presentation will be "Mindfulness-Based Interventions in Context: Past, Present, and Future"
Educational Objectives:
- Summarize the core elements of a mindfulness-based intervention in order for it to be truly "mindfulness-based"
- List the areas of current research into possible mechanisms of action of mindfulness and assess opportunities for future investigation
- Review the types of patients who are likely to respond to mindfulness-based interventions
