Jennifer Townsend

Jennifer Townsend graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002 where she received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Biological Basis of Behavior. She acquired structural and functional MRI training at UCLA.

Her current research includes clinical pre-surgical language and motor mapping with Dr. Susan Bookheimer, investigating the neurological underpinnings of Body Dysmorphic Disorder with Dr. Jamie Feusner, and understanding the functional and structural abnormalities in mood disorders with Dr. Lori Altshuler, M.D. at the Mood Disorders Research Program (MDRP).

Jen's research aims at detecting neurological abnormalities in emotional and inhibition regulatory networks in unipolar depression and bipolar disorder.
