New Child Fellows Online Groups

To all Semel Psychiatry Child Fellows,

An online community is waiting in the wings for you.  Micro sites have been set up for years 1 and 2, which Residents can join if they have logged in to the Semel website with their UCLA online ID - guidance to login (and how to request edit permissions) at www.semel.ucla.edu/help/login.

To apply to specific groups go to www.semel.ucla.edu/og and click on the relevant links.  Once membership has been approved, you can post public (meaning anyone can view it) or private (meaning only fellow group members can view it) content into your site, such as announcements, blogs, calendar events, photos... or even a wiki page (that anyone in the group can edit).  We are currently working on a system to list forthcoming lectures and management of your rotations.

One significant point to note... if you are keen to start uploading content, or initiating discussions using the forums, you may wish to consider very carefully your audience (on the 'Groups' tab towards the bottom of each edit page) - especially whether the 'Public' box is checked or not.  Also be aware that this web system has had no formal HIPAA certification or evaluation.

The 'all-new' Semel website is currently in an extended beta phase (so expect a few, occasional glitches), but guidance information is gradually being posted at www.semel.ucla.edu/help.  Please be patient, but if you encounter significant problems, contact the Site Manager.
