The Eunice Kennedy Shriver Intellectual Development and Disabilities Research Center at UCLA is a multidisciplinary research organization whose purpose is to provide new knowledge concerning the understanding and treatment of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD).
It fulfills this purpose in two ways:
- By creating an environment in which research methodology and knowledge from traditional academic and clinical disciplines can be merged to focus on relevant basic and clinical research problems,
- By training new investigators in research involving MRDD MRRC faculty use multiple research approaches to study MRDD.
