Harold W. Neighbors, Ph.D.
Dr. Harold W. Neighbors is Professor of Health Behavior & Health Education and Director of the Center for Research on Ethnicity, Culture, and Health (CRECH) in the School of Public Health where he is the Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded CRECH Doctoral Training Program, Promoting Ethnic Diversity in Public Health Training. Dr. Neighbors also directs the School's Paul B. Cornely Postdoctoral Program and is Research Professor in the Research Center for Group Dynamics at the Institute for Social Research where he is Director of the Program for Research on Black Americans (PRBA). Dr. Neighbors received his Ph.D. in Social and Community Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1982. Dr. Neighbors did postdoctoral work at the Institute for Social Research from 1982-1985 where he was supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and the National Institute of Mental Health.
