SEEDS - IT Program

Strategies for Enhancing Early Developmental Success - Infants and Toddlers

The 20-week program is a UCLA research study for foster and adoptive parents and relative caregivers and their young children:

  • is FREE for eligible families.
  • involves both the parent and the child.
  • includes a parent education and advocacy group, a parenting skills group, and a parent-child music and play group.

What Can Parents and Caregivers Learn from the SEEDS Program?

  • How to find early intervention services for their child.
  • How to better understand and respond to their child's feelings and behavior.
  • How to have more positive playtime with their child.

Who is eligible?

  • Foster parents, adoptive parents and relative caregivers (English-speaking) with a child between 1 and 24 months of age.
  • Child has possible prenatal alcohol exposure (may still be eligible if also exposed to other substances).

Families may be paid up to $225 for their participation.

Foster parents and caregivers can receive DCFS training credits.
