Immunology in Neuroscience

Overview

This course investigates the importance and impact the immune system plays in specific areas of neuroscience; including stroke, CNS trauma, neurodegenerative and white matter disease, brain tumors, and neural cell transplantation.  Also explored will be potential links in autism, schizophrenia, cognition, sleep, circadian rhythms, and the reward system.    Seminar with discussion format will be offered Fall, Winter, Spring Quarters, the first and third Friday of every month, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.  Prerequisite:  consent of instructor.
