This series of lectures aims to educate PGY2 trainees about general psychological principles, distinctions between clinical psychology and psychiatry training, psychological assessment, evidence-based psychotherapies, and an overview of brain-behavior relations. The overview of general psychological principles provides a rapid survey of some of the major theories of personality and human cognition that are emphasized in clinical psychological training but less in psychiatric training programs. Other widely held distinctions between the disciplines of clinical psychology and psychiatry will be summarized, including a critical appraisal of categorical models for psychiatric diagnosis, limitation of the current diagnostic taxonomy...
