Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Related Disorders

Overview

This course is designed to teach students about the developmental and behavioral sequelae of prenatal alcohol exposure in children. Students will learn how to make the diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, how to take a pregnancy and developmental history, and how to assess the behavior of children exposed to alcohol prenatally. The course is taught in the context of an ongoing clinic for children referred because they were exposed to alcohol in utero. Offered continuously throughout the year, Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m., Room 58-261B Semel Institute and Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
