Dual Diagnosis Group Psychotherapy Training

Overview

This course emphasizes the group treatment of dual diagnosis patients (those with both psychiatric and substance abuse disorders). Three groups per week will be conducted for patients in the two-inpatient units as well as for those in the outpatient clinic. Focus will be on the observation of group dynamics, the practice of here and now strategy, the harm reduction principle, and the modules for dual diagnosis patients. Offered continuously throughout the year, Monday/ Wednesday/Friday, 10 a.m.-12 noon, Harbor- UCLA Medical Center. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
