Clinical Practicum

Overview

In the context of facilitating the psychotherapeutic treatment of children and their families, case-focused presentations will deal with generic issues of 1) choice of family to enhance psychotherapeutic involvement, 2) methods of evaluation, 3) issues of differential diagnosis, 4) different forms of work with parents, 5) integrating different treatment modalities, 6) focusing and refocusing of treatment goals, 7) issues of termination and potential referral, 8) methods of evaluating treatment progress. All of the above issues will also be discussed in relation to evidenced based early preventive intervention. Offered July-December, Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.- 12 p.m., 78-204 at the Semel Institute.  Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
