First year psychopharmacology course for UCLA/San Fernando Valley Program Psychiatry residents. Lectures cover pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and clinical use of the major classes of psychotropics, antipsychotics, mood stabilizing/antimanic agents, antidepressants, anxiolytics, and miscellaneous agents. Course includes resident preparation of a "state of the art" review of a specific topic in psychopharmacology. A pharmacology textbook is assigned. Required for PGY-1 residents. Weekly, Tuesdays, 1-2 p.m., July-October.
