Infant and Preschool Service (IPS)

Infant and Preschool Service evaluates children with any suspected developmental difference, including autism and other developmental disabilities (e.g., intellectual disabilities), genetic disorders, fetal alcohol exposure, challenging behaviors, and a variety of other concerns. The assessment process includes interviewing the child, parent and/or teacher using semi structured and structured standardized measures (diagnostic and adaptive functioning), observing the child (in clinic, in school/daycare, and/or at home, as clinically appropriate and feasible), testing the child (cognitive, academic and/or diagnostic), collecting questionnaire data (from parents, caregivers, and teachers), and reviewing previous assessments.
