Borderline Personality Disorder Clinic
BPDI current offers a one year program based on the Mentalization-Based Treatment Model developed by Anthony Bateman, MA, FRCPsych and Peter Fonagy, PhD, FBA.
In the summer of 2009, BPDI will also offer a DBT based skills training group in conjunction with private therapists in the community who are certified in DBT. Clients must commit to this group for one year. Therapists must consult with the BPDI team regularly.
Sessions
The clinic is composed of three components:
- Each patient is seen weekly for individual psychotherapy by a member of the team (psychologist, social worker or resident psychiatrist).
- In addition, each patient attends a group therapy session for 90 minutes. This group is led by two team members.
- Lastly, patients receive medication management services from one of our team resident psychiatrists who operate under the supervision of our Clinic Director.
All patients agree that they will use this clinic as their only therapy source and psychiatric medication management source.
Clinic sessions are held in the afternoons and evenings to accommodate work schedules of the patients. We require 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments.
